Asian Institute of Technology

Celebrating its fortieth birthday in 1999, the AIT originated in 1959 to help meet the growing need for advanced engineering education in Asia. In November 1967, under its present name of the Asian Institute of Technology, the Institute became an autonomous international institution empowered to award degrees and diplomas. AIT is located 42 km. north of Bangkok (16 km. north of the Airport) on Phaholyothin Road in Klong Luang, Pathumthani.
The AIT Center lies on the eastern part of the beautiful campus. It was the location for the morning lectures. It is seen here bedecked in regal purple and gold, and with the colours of the Thai national flag (red, white and blue), on the day of the inauguration of the course by Her Royal Highness Princess Mari Chakri Sirindhorn.
