A major focus of the IOCCG is to broaden the user community for ocean-colour data, particularly in developing countries, through the coordination and sponsoring of advanced training courses. To date, the IOCCG has sponsored and co-ordinated ten specialised ocean-colour training courses, providing comprehensive training to over 260 students from approximately 55 different countries. The courses are generally of two weeks duration and are aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students, university lecturers and researchers.
